It takes experience in garment fitting, construction and pattern making to recognise the best way to go about altering a garment. The method applied is directed by each individual garment and the person wearing it. One regular clients is Sebastien So, who has entrusted Rudolf with the task of altering many of his premium brand clothes, including items from Prada, Galliano and Vivienne Westwood.

There is more to making an existing garment fit properly than to ‘just run it in a bit’

Rudolf can perform alterations ranging from a simple adjusting of hems to complete garment reconstructions; always blending the new into the existing work. It is generally easier to make things smaller or shorter than the other way around, as there may not always be sufficient fabric available to extend seams. Whenever additional fabric is grafted into a garment, it is done to look like part of the original design.
